Some men need to hear and remember this!

This post is a longer version of a tweet I sent out on Sunday via the Joss Group Twitter account (@thejossgroup.com). I am filing this in the Wisdom category on the blog here because it really is important.

Do not use the word “chick” or “chicks” to refer to anything but baby chickens. Any other use of the words is demeaning. Full stop.

Women are women. Chicks are baby chickens. The two are not the same. Mixing them up is a huge red flag the person using the word(s) is not a big fan of women no matter how much they may protest this characterization. Believe them the first time they tell you who they are. Words matter. Truly.
